A pastry so perfect it cost a whole lot.
Ten quid for the coffee, twelve for the bread,
“I’m doing tremendously well,” so I said.
The cup’s got a sleeve,
very proper and neat,
But I take just one bite and it’s all on the seat.
Bosh! Wallop! The crust goes completely berserk,
Now I look like a chap who’s allergic to work.
There’s flakes in my loafers, there’s crumbs in my hair,
The roses are judging me, sitting right there.
I paid twenty quid for this fabulous thrill,
To look like an absolute wally in Primrose Hill!
